Hi I am just about finished building my RC plane and I was wondering if anyone would like to teach me how to fly it because it is a beginner plane and if they would like to go to the flight club in Blackstock

Re: flight club

What he said....^

Glad to see your looking for an instructor, there are a lot of new guys who feel the need to crash a plane or two before the ask for an instructor.

The MAAC websit will have a listing of clubs in your area and contact information that will get you pointed in the right direction.

Welcome to the best, most fun and frustrating hobby in the world!

Re: flight club

Well, according to the MAAC website, I dont see a MAAC club in Blackstock

Your best bet is to pack up your stuff and head to the Blackstock field on a nice weekend day. There are bound to be members there.

When you get there, leave your stuff in the car and approach one of the memebrs there.

Tell them you are new to RC and have a trainer that you would like to learn on. Ask them if there is an instructor present that can have a look at your plane.

Once you meet some of these guys and "break the ice", you will find them to be eager to help you (99% of the time, sometimes you get a cranky old bugger but that is rare)

After they check out your plane on the ground, you might get offered to have an instructor take your plane out for a check out flight, and if you are lucky, they might give you a few lessons. If the Blackstock club is a MAAC sanctioned field you will need to get your MAAC, but MAAC for juniors is only 10 bucks, which is a great deal and it is good for the entire season.

Re: flight club

There are many large and small details that can cause your aircraft not to function properly. When you take your aircraft to the field or the club meeting. Get as many of the experienced flyers to look at it as you can and ask them what they would change. Most of the suggestions will have a story behind them as to why not to do it that way. Most mystery accidents can be explained if you go through the wreckage and analyze what broke, fell apart or came disconnected.

Re: flight club

Never heard of the "flight club in Blackstock". Perhaps you are thinking of the Keswick Club near there. There are at least 3 clubs near Port Perry.

These might be better links for you.

Re: flight club

There is a small group of us who fly in Uxbridge. I'm sure we could arrange to help you if you're interested. PM me if you want to pursue that option. I can't say I've heard of a club in Blackstock but if there is one that would be interesting.
