Just getting started with in flight video. I am curious what most of you use for editing your videos? Not looking for anything too expensive. Free is even better

Re: Video editing software

AVS works pretty good.
Its free. For a small fee you can have all their software, lifetime support and updates.

Re: Video editing software

All depends on what you want to do and what camera you have, not all editors can handle all flavors of, usually .MP4 files and HD, from today's cameras. Almost non could handle my Webbie but all could handle my GoPro Hero without conversion.
I like Vegas, but you have to pay for it. The free Windows Movie Maker in Win7 is ok also.

Re: Video editing software

I have used WinDVD Creator, Roxio Creator Business & the Windows 7 MovieMaker. All were part of the software that came with a couple of new laptops over the years. They all seem to work fine & are quite similar. One thing I notice is a distinct loss of quality when editing HD inputs. Does anyone have same experience & any opinions on which software handles HD best?

Re: Video editing software

I second DVDvideosoft, but I can't get it to work with mp4. With other formats it works great.

Re: Video editing software

I use Vegas HD 9.0 mostly. It can handle MP4 but my laptop needs a better video processor to get run faster. I have Nero Vision 10 that I've yet to try. I did burn an HD disc using the other side of the Nero software. Both of these I paid for. I also bought a nice final editing software called vReveal. It can clean up, deshake, etc. Easy to use with good results.

Re: Video editing software

Thanks for the replies folks. I am at a float fly this week and shooting lots of video. Not much time to play computer. I will try your suggestions when we get back and maybe post some vids.

2nd try - Here is a screen cap from the Sandy Point float fly this past weekend. I guess the first try didn't work too well
