I just bought the Gopro helmet hero and was wondering what video setting works best onboard rc airplanes. I have 720p at 60 fps selected now but am not sure which is best for alot of movement.

720 60fps has the widest field of view, a lot more warp to the look though. You can slow it down nice for some 30fps slo-mo. Picture mode is 720 and really warps the shots. I like to use 1080 mode. It has less warp to it but still a good field of view. Good for higher altitude shooting. The best thing to do is strap it on and experiment. Find what you like and stick with it.
I have a stock gopro and a modified one with a different lens, no warp to FOV.

Re: Gopro 1080p

Like buffythesaint said the 720 60fps is the best setting for post production, especially slowing it down for smooth slomo even at 30%.
The 1080p has a narrower field of view but is much more susceptible to vibration, the 'jello effect', great for testing your motor!
Play with it and do them all, same day, same place so you can compare!
