All the corners on the bottom of the floats should be very sharp, not rounded at all. One kind is a vertical strip on the inside of the forward part of the floats. Sticking down about 3/8" would probably do. What I did was to extend the bottom of the float forward section about 3/8" inboard and I put a piece of 1/8" sq. spruce on the inside bottom edge. It is shaped at a 45 deg. triangle with the vertical part on the inside. The sharp corners make sure the rounded edges do not suck the water around the corners, quicker takeoffs. Float position can also cause the nose to dig before it gets on the step.
