Hi guys have a dle 20cc runs well, but is leaving a black tar residue on the plane not easy to clean off. I am using pennsoil 2 stroke oil and high test fuel, beleive that the engine is running rich not sure if it is the low speed or high speed needle that is not right. any thoughts I have read this on a dle30 with a similar problem.

I am not an expert with these engines first one, any help

Re: dle 20

Mine is doing the same thing, ive been using rubbing alcohol to clean up. Heard they do it until they are broken in. It stopped doing it until I readjusted needles to get running better.

Re: dle 20

I use Stihl Ultra HP. Synthetic oil and the small amount of residue cleans up rather easy. Check your plug, if it's black your rich. Don't run it rich, set the low end for transition and keep the high end on the rich side of peak RPM.
