Now this is Model Building!

It took a grand total of six years to build but an incredible new miniature model, called Knuffingen Airport, based on Hamburg’s airport, has finally opened to the public.
It’s on display at Miniatur Wunderland, in Hamburg, and features 40 aircraft that take off and land and 90 vehicles that trundle around the runways automatically.
Making something this small and perfectly formed doesn’t come cheap. It cost 3.5million Euros – but the result is plane-ly amazing.

Re: Now this is Model Building!

Funny, how they spend so much time building these beautiful diorama's and then don't think to at least rent a tilt-shift lens to show off the craftsman's work at it's best

You put it on display and charge admission to see it. And then you move on to the next ground breaking amazing project.

Re: Now this is Model Building!

Simply amazing! As someone that used to build scale models for competition/Hire. I can tell you, the amount of work that went into making just one of these planes,as profesionaly as they have done, is a big commitment. But to build the entire Airport!! OMG. They must have had hundreds of craftsmen working on it.

Thumbs up Re: Now this is Model Building!

Even if you don't get too excited by static models, this one is mind-boggling. I can watch an elaborate train set for a few minutes, but this thing is unbelievable.
