Death of a Dragon fly

Was out flying my 500 when I saw something dark fall from it. As I was watching the object fall to the ground I took my eyes off my heli. Next thing I know my heli is headed straight for me so I ducked swung the tail around to face me and yanked back on the elevator stick. I missed the parked car got it stopped in mid air and then gently landed the heli with no damage. This was all done with a 4000mha 3s battery and HK500. Lesson one DON'T take your eyes off your heli lesson two get more distance between you and your heli and lesson three if something falls off your heli land it and check when it's on the ground. The Dragon fly did not survive and left nasty stuff all over my glass blade. Any one else have any suggestions?
