Very bad news for those that haven't heard, Byran Jensen pilot of the full scale beast was killed yesterday at an airshow. Also, yesterday in UK, Red Arrow #4 crashed just moments after a demo and pilot was killed

Re: Bryan Jensen pilot of The BEAST killed @ airshow

I just read that this horribly sad weekend has only got worse. Today at the Selfridge Air Show 2011, in Michigan, a wing walker fell to their death, while trying to transfer to a helicopter. All of these accidents are so very, very sad. and my families prayers go out to all of the family and friends of those killed.

Re: the beast

What a terrible shame! The way the plane pitched down and went into the tight spin looks to me like a mechanical falure, perhaps a control cable snapped under such severe stress?? Something happened so that the pilot lost any kind of control. At any rate, he knew he was done for before that plane hit the ground.

Being there and witnessing such a terrible thing would be enough to shake anyone up. Too bad for sure!

Re: the beast

Oh man. With that kind of crash, it is all speculation. He was throwing the plane all over before it went in.

Control failure? Pilot disoriented? Pilot blacked out?? who knows. The investigation will be the only way we will know for sure.

All the same, its a pretty sad thing when it happens.
