Back to the top, i'm sure there is someone out there to take on this great C130 project, i only know of 4 others in Canada so far....

Price still can be negotiated with a serious buyer....

Re: Giant scale Palmer C130

Hmmm nice ..... one big problem ..... my van has a max cargo length of 7 feet with still being able to close the hatch. But, if I take out the passenger seat that will get me a few more. Let me talk to the wife and see how she feels about roof racks & bungee cords.

Sure Arn, let me know. It fits very nicely in the centre of my van, nose goes in between both front seats and rear door closes with few inches to spare. Off course whenever i transport my big ones, there are no seats in the van except for front 2....

Colin,

This a big project and you need a lot of scratch building experience to take on this project and complete it. NO engines or electronics with this model, it has complete nose landing gear, Air-line kit incuding air valve for retracts to operate and mechanical mechanism to operate rear cargo doors. Model is designed for 4 x .60sz 2 strokes or 90sz 4 stroke engines. With new technology i have seen guys powering these C130s with electric set-ups plus you can go gas with small .50sz engines also if you keep it light. As far as costs are concerned, it all depends on builder however he wants to build it and add stuff as he pleases,
no real guestimates. I personally don't think this project is for starter guys into scratch building but if you really want it as your future project, i'll sell it to you also.

Re: Giant scale Palmer C130

I would also consider trading this C130 with giant scale warbirds like:

Yellow P-38,
F-82 "Twin Mustang",
Ziroli C-47 Dakota,
Junkers Stuka",
Bigger then TF Sea Fury or Tempest MkII,
Hostetller Cessna C337,
few to start off with...

Basically in same stage as my model is so it's not like i'm looking to get more then what i have...

Re: Giant scale Palmer C130

Well I have a NIB 90" P-38 but the cost on that is still a handful of C notes away from what you are looking for. Nitro Planes had them but I got mide from Genera Hobby .... The kit itself was well made .... the end finishing leaves a bit to be desired. Th manual that comes with it can possible be useful for the bottom of a bird cage. If you stand back a few yards you know wha it is ..... More of a close to standoff scale but flew really nice with a pair of 2C.61's. Built one a few years back so the things that you on't get told in hte build instructions i've found out ... this time should go pretty easy. As said flew great .... it would even hold a knife edge for a pass over the field. Had a batterypack incident last month "DUAH" .... I did like the plane so it got replaced.

Re; Stuka .... check here ... https://www.rccanada.ca/rccforum/showthread.php?t=125234 it went in 2 days .... looked pretty good .... had to clean up just a little drool & slobber from the keyboard ... as they say timing is everything ...

I'm working on getting a 80"B-25 as well .... I'll keep thinking about the C-130 .... it's going to take a bit of Doug Henning magic on the accounting to make it work though.

What about the L1049 hanging there .... you doing anything with it ???

... Later

Arn

ps: what van you driving ??? my guess it's an extended something .. ?

Re: Giant scale Palmer C130

I will trade my C130 model with other listed models or something else, it could be one, 2 or 3 airframes plus equipment or couple of RTF 90" plus models worth $1000.00 in trade value.

I will consider Yellow aircraft or other high grade kits with some equipment if anyone wants to go that route.

OR

Partial cash with airplanes and equipment will be entertained.
