I use all 3 = blade angle , canopy/skids up or down then tail , to fly ! in that order.

the colour of the canopy will not matter to much , when you lose sight of it .or orientaion.

power/pitch up, when your too close to the ground, in most case "when not inverted" can give you some time to recover

just watch some of the guys on youtube fly ,"seem's to me, the colour is hard to see ". at the speed they fly ,or move at . and some are " like a hummingbird "

but watch the blade angle then canopy/ skids, most of the time you can tell what the heil is doing .

and spending more time on a simulator, is a good way to keep the cost down .
I like to spend about 1/2 hour a day on mine ,when i can ?

for my rex 500 clone I used basic white on the front round part of the canopy, and then on the left side I used flourescent orange marker and flourescent green marker on the right side. I find this really helps having really progressed this summer my heli flight.
