What is the process for the cf. Did you laminate it onto balsa?
And then cut the shape?

Laminated onto lite ply with West Systems epoxy 205/105 and pressed between two plates of glass (shelving) with about 200 pounds of stuff. Got lots of the epoxy left from the wing build so might as well make the most of it. I am using probond for the other sheeting since I think epoxy only works best under vacuum pressure where everything gets crushed together!

Re: Carden PRO Built by Lee

Lee.. Could a person laminate carbon to the wings usinf the vacum bagging method in replacing the balsa? Do you think there would be a big weight gain? You could probly go thinner than the balsa? Just a thought

I would think it would weigh too much and cost wayyy too much We used to fiberglass wings in pattern days over 1/32 balsa but repairs are a pain and not worth the effort unless you are doing a wicked airbrush job.
