Sounds like a question for Kurt Koelling on FG
Thanks Lee! I'll email Kurt and Dean and see what they say! Not like it matters, but just always curious!!

Cheers

Re: Carden PRO Built by Lee

no pics..camera died. Oh well things are a mess right now as I do lots of little fidly stuff. Having a hard time digging out for the Durant box in the rudder as the blade I have doesnt go deep enough. The vertical stab combined with the thickness of the fuse rear is over 1 1/2 inches deep so guess I need one of those fancy tools I see Trev using to cut his out! New tool...yeah!

LOL!!!

Lee - You'd be quicker to go to CTC, buy the tool and finish the job!!

Highly recommend that tool! - One of those items that you wonder what you did without it!

Lee, The CTC version "Jobmate" plug in version was on sale for $40 this week.
You can probably still get one today at that price

Re: Carden PRO Built by Lee

Yes I will get it this weekend. Some pics of the stab hinging and throws. Bevelled the old fashioned way...still works! Probably 45 degrees throw..never use more than 30 but its there!

Re: Carden PRO Built by Lee

Enough throw? Also you can see by the rudder side views that there is over 1 1/2 inches of thickness to cut through besides the end of the fuse which adds another 3/8, so need the tool we mentioned for sure!

Re: Carden PRO Built by Lee

This weekend I wil start on the canopy hatch but the basswood pieces are too heavy and too hard to recess for the canopy so they will be trimmed to 3/8 and balsa capped over them which will be on the outside for easy covering and recessing for the canopy. I like how the 43% has just balsa for this and may just do that if I have some stock downstairs. This should go quickly while I finish the rudder too. Looking like a plane

Re: Carden PRO Built by Lee

I wonder why Dennis went back to basswood rails on this one and yet did balsa rails on the 126" Edge that was designed around the same time period??

Might need to call and ask!! I'm stumped

Re: Carden PRO Built by Lee

Lee, that's more then plenty of throw anyone really would need for 3D. Things are shaping up well.
