A few progress pics. The duct is extra from Carden but worth every penny! A perfect fit with very little trimming needed. The cannister rings are done and just need some silicone standoffs which are coming (a little birdy told me).

Two and a half hours later and wheelpants are all done...wheww Dont know where Trev gets the energy to do so much...must be Red Bull, caffeine, and visions of DA 200Ls on his mind !
So all components are now complete so tomorrow I will clean up the shop and get the final sanding done and maybe a shot of the complete plane on wednesday if the weather cooperates, before I start on the wings.

Re: Carden PRO Built by Lee

Fooling around with some SBus schematics that might work. The rudder servos are Hitec 7955s and would be pre-programmed. Do regular servos work when plugged into the SBus port of the receiver?

Hi Lee!!

I'm just having a little trouble understanding your schematic...
- What do you mean by Dual SBUS Rx?
- Why 2 long leads to the tail?

If you used non-SBUS servos and you want to plug them into the SBUS cable, you need a decoder (see attached link)... acts as both a 4-port splitter and basically assigns an IP address to a non-SBUS servo so the Rx can "talk" to those servos in IP language!!!

Cheers

Trev

Re: Carden PRO Built by Lee

Futaba is releasing a dual sBus receiver (the R6202SB) so you can plug in two SBus places which eliminates a single point of failure. Now you have effectively two Sbus hookups so my thinking is having one elev/rudder and opposite aileron into one side and vice versa.
So lose one battery, wire etc and still have function to the other side for a nice safe landing!
Kinda thought the Hitec servos would need a decoder...darn! Will work that out.

Re: Carden PRO Built by Lee

Got the fuse all blended into the canopy and cowling. Sanded into foam on the canopy deck but no worries as this will be glassed soon. Also glued in the final cross braces in the cockpit area that I left open to make it easier to work inside it. These were done in cf rod and now the fuse is super rigid!
Once the canopy is glassd and final sanded into the fuse for a perfect fit, I can start covering the fuse too.
So on track and should have the plane covered in time for our IMAC seminar on February 25! Starting to make a list for the SBus stuff and may start ordering some parts soon.
