I was going to order the PSP single tank fitting for the Fuji bottle but decided to use a Dubro aluminum anodized red cap for a standard tank instead. I like having all my lines together and it wasn't hard to do. First I used a forstner bit to make a hole the same size as the stopper and because the top cap is deep (to fit a standard Dubro tank) I used two O rings for proper compression under this cap so that with compression the stopper seals properly on the blue cap of the Fuji bottle. When I do the final install I will use some silicone to seal the cap on and some heatshrink to really make sure that cap never comes off!
I'm using viton tubing for the main line and regualr tygon for the fill/unfill line which will have its own clunk. I've used this system for years and never an issue. I personally hate tee connectors in lines and I don't use filtered clunks. I double filter from my fill tank instead.

Re: Carden PRO Built by Lee

I'll post some pics of my tank mount soon. I picked up my paint today too...but have to wait for some warmer weather.
Things are coming together fast now, and just a few things left to fabricate like my battery and receiver mounts. Hopefully have the painting done end of next week and start the final phase of graphics.
Kathy and I are off to Boston this weekend for a game and some good food and beer. They're playing Washington...go Caps!

Re: Carden PRO Built by Lee

Tank mount is in and ready for the velcro. Waiting for some clunks to come in for the tank and doing some planning for the lines. I like the aluminum vent idea and will do that.
Flying the flag on the rudder...cant wait. I love putting on the graphics the best....really puts it all together

Re: Carden PRO Built by Lee

I'm really happy with the way things are coming together and despite the narrow fuse (relative to my JTech Extra monster) there's a ton of room to make a neat installation.
Trev where did you think you would put the throttle and choke servos? I'm looking at the plate by the headers instead of mid fuse. This would make for short pushrods runs but subject them to more heat and possible vibration but it's where they are on my big extra with no problems?
Also looking at the Booma Intelliswitch...lots of cool features like voltage, temp and usage display for two batteries, fail safe etc.. Expensive but cool and useful

That's where I put my throttle and choke servos, Lee!!! It means a pushrod of only 7-8" long

I've never had an issue with heat either - the throttle servo on Jack M's 43% Extra / Mintor220 is about 1/2" from the headers and the servo case doesn't even get warm!

Re: Carden PRO Built by Lee

Throttle and choke servo locations are done..just need a throttle and choke servo! I will ordering the rest of the SBUs system next week and hopefully have something to hook up the following week or so. Next week is painting all the fiberglass and hatch parts.
So what's left:
Painting
Final graphics
Hinge gluing
Final fuel system install
Radio install
Balance and fire up!
Two weeks tops! Oh yeahhhhh!
