Lee I have the same Canadan Maple Leaf Tail Graphic on my Extra 260 (My MaidenFest plane) and my new CARF Sukohi SU-31.

I even ordered a extral large Canadian Maple Leaf for my Trailer. I had B & E replace the small airplane in the bottom right with my Home Town name and the comment "Home of Bobby Orr".

B & E are a great company to deal with, they made these changes at NO charge and I had my decals in 6 days after placing the order.

If you are still going to the Joe Nall event, look for my trailer so we can meet up. I'll post pictures once the weather warms up so I can get outside to apply it.

Sorry I missed your event a couple of weeks ago. The snow storm was one of the worst that we have had this winter on the night before the event. Just too far to drive in very bad weather.

Yes Eric at B&E is a great guy to work with. I'm giving him headaches on this one though
I like the idea of that graphic on the trailer. I'm still thinking of the "Nall" but dont have anyone to go with so far. I would love to team up with someone but I'm flying if i go and only staying from the 15-20th.

Re: Carden PRO Built by Lee

Gee go away for a weekend and get bumped to page two! LOL
We had a fabulous weekend in Boston where my wife's team (the Capitals) won. We were surrounded by yellow but my cheers were well heard even if Kathy had to kick me a few times!
So back to the build and since we still have snow (it's raining hard so maybe not much longer) I can concentrate on finishing this thing.
All the hinging is done and the graphics will hopefully arrive next week. Now I have to prime and paint what's left and install the radio gear. I'll keep you in suspense until I get the painting done but might sneak a few peaks now and then.
Wish I could see all the finished products before Maidenfest but just happy to be in the mix!

Re: Carden PRO Built by Lee

All the little stuff sure eats into your build time! Here are a few shots of the hinging process whereby I q tip each hinge with vaseline prior to gluing in with epoxy. I then clean everything with alcohol and make sure there are no epoxy smears on the surface.
The hinges get pinned with cocktail toothpicks later and then the hinge seams are covered to seal the gaps. Wew!
Just started priming everything today, and hopefully get the spraying done by next week. More sanding....

Re: Carden PRO Built by Lee

I'm priming with some K&B super poxy primer which is now outlawed but I have a stash After a few coats of filler and primer to fill all the pinholes, I will be spraying with Dupont auto paint custom mixed for me. This is a base coat/clear coat system and the clear will be added once all the graphics are done.

HI Lee

Nice work. To spend less time on your hinging process. You can deep the tip of the hinges in vaseline melted. It's fast and the vaseline liquid will really prevent the epoxy from entering inside of the hinge.

Re: Carden PRO Built by Lee

I've done it both ways but I worry with liquid vaseline that it will drip to far and the bond wont be as good as this method. I have never had a hinge pull out either way but thats probably because they are all pinned. Anyway thats all done and just doing the painting now and waiting for radio and graphics stuff to arrive to finish up.

Re: Carden PRO Built by Lee

Today Brendan came over and we did the final install of the wing bolts and anti rotation pins and I finallized all the hinge sealing and covering. Now its just paint and install all the radio, fuel system, graphics and programming.
I wont maiden it before Maidenfest unlike some other turncoats but it might get light on its feet when I do the taxi tests!
