Hey Lee nice plane!!! I really love mine, every time I fly my other planes I just want to go back to the pro.
By the way I have details on all surface movement noted if it can help you. What radio are you flying?

Re: Carden PRO Built by Lee

You might as well build another Lee. It can be your Freestyle plane.

Re: Carden PRO Built by Lee

Hello Lee, now that you have some time on the plane are you happy with the shortened ailerons? I'm interested in building a Dalton Extra 300ML for IMAC use only. What was the length and width of the ailerons on your Carden?

Re: Carden PRO Built by Lee

Yes very happy with the shorty ailerons although I have since hooked up two servos for reliability since I plan to put hundreds of flights on this airframe.
I'll look back and find out what size they are.
BTW Ivan Kristensen did the same mods as have others and I have to admit this plane flies on rails. Just love it!

Re: Carden PRO Built by Lee

I'll double check but pretty sure the ailerons are 4 1/2 at the tip and 7 1/2 at the root and 34 inches long. I went pretty close to the dimensions Rick used on his original on Flying Giants.
The inner part of the ailerons end about in line with the tip of the stabs if you sight down the back so that aileron deflections dont disturb the airflow over the stabs. In theory its to make things smoother. No good for 3D but then this plane and the Dalton ML are not built for 3D anyway.
I have a pic of the uncovered wing on Post #246 showing the two aileron positions which are totally up to the builder.
Honestly didn't notice much difference between one servo or two, but use at least a 300 ounce servo like the Hitec 7955 or Futaba 9157 or similar. Quality servos make all the difference on IMAC planes.
