Lee,

Another alternative is to make the normall plywood cannister mount but instead of just four pieces of larger silicon tubbing use large silicone slimmer fuel tubbing and instead of the standard notches just drill a bunch of 1/8" holes around the larger cannister opening and then thread a uncut piece of the slimmer fuel tubing through the holes like a shoe lace. Now the whole RE3 will be supported around it's entire circumfrence instead of just a four spots.

Sorry I don't have any picture of what I am trying to describe.

Andy I believe you have done this in the past as well, right?

Lee
I like the Secraft's, I have them on my Extreme Flight 300, they are expensive but are worth it.

Yes I have Jim, but the TBM style is dead simple and easy to fab a similar bracket and the o-rings are available at any gasket supply in silicon. I'd have to measure the diameter for the re3. Trev has used them on carbon pipes also.

For those guys that don't know what Scaleguy is talking about here is what I did for the pipes in my Wildhare rebuild. Simple, cheap and works well. BTW I have cleaned up the lacing pattern since that picture was taken

Yes I was thinking of that style. The TBM ones are awful expensive. I'm sure I can come up with a cheaper alternative.

I've made my own Lee with a flat mount in the middle! There work better actually and easier to mount. The o-rings are only $2 each at my local supplier.

Re: Carden PRO Built by Lee

Work on this mod is going very slowly as I have so many other projects pending but I did manage to cut out the balsa lining for the tunnel and I have a novel method I will try for the pipe mounts that will take up minimal room at the rear of the pipes.

Re: Carden PRO Built by Lee

Some pics of the tunnel in process. Just simple 1/16 balsa sheeting which will be epoxied in place. I'd use probond but its too cold in my garage LOL!
As you can see in pic #2 there's not a lot of room back there! Wait until you see my solution

Re: Carden PRO Built by Lee

Only two more weeks until we drive to Florida! I brought my baby over to Brendan's so I could work in a nice warm garage, ahhhh
So I picked up a shiny new object the other day...a DA 170. I had to elongate the tunnel in the PRO but shes all fuel proofed and ready to finish in shiny new kevlar! Hopefuly some pics tonight. With the RE3's I will have a true World's ready machine
