Working on the baffles. Gaston gave me some templates of plastic but they were hard to work with (sorry Gas) so I made some new ones with blue foam sheet which is great to work with for this application. I've seen others use balsa sheet with glued on tabs etc but with this you just get close, use a pencil to mark adjustments and keep trimming with a knife until its perfect. I'm using cf for the base plates and light ply covered with CF ultracoat for the rear plate since its wider than my cf plates and much lighter.

Re: Carden PRO Built by Lee

Nah, there's a 1/8 gap between the foam and the engine!

Re: Carden PRO Built by Lee

Had a productive day today as I finalized the baffles installation. The CF plates look mahvelous! The back plate was made of 1/8 doorskin and lightened with Forstner bits. I was going to do it in CF ultracote but in keeping with my kevlar scheme I used that instead!

Re: Carden PRO Built by Lee

I used Gaston's trick to locate the holes in the backplate with a laser. I made a mount of wood and attached it to my tripod and as the pictures show, a perfect hole alignment. Thanks Gas

Thanks Lee
Looking good, Hugh used the same method, I'm glad it worked out well.

When I order mine, I request in the "COMMENTS" section that the small plane in the bottom be replaced with my town name "Parry Sound". Eric does this for NO CHARGE!
