Still waiting for the 2 1/2 offset SWB mount to expedite things can you guys tell me how much offset I need , how big is the center hole in the mount and is the spacing the same as on the DA150 so I can drill the mounting holes?
Thanks

5/16" Offset from center is what you need for a DA150 at 2.5 degrees offset

The center whole of the SWB mount is 2 3/4" diameter and spacing is the same!

However, the nice thing with the mount, is you can attach it to the motorbox and then drill out the bolt holes of the firewall (which are angled 2.5 degrees) and the SWB mount acts as a drill-guide and you get a perfect job!!

Personally, I'd drill out the 2 3/4" center hole (offset it the 5/16") and then drill the bolts holes later on! - at least it'll let you get the firewall mounted

Why drill out the centre?

LMAO!!!

Ya Jim... The plane will probably fall apart if he lightens it!!!!

Good thing you're not building it... You'd likely slather on a thick coat of epoxy and another 3/8" firewall to be safe!!!

Lee... Don't listen to Jeeeeem

NYET!

Would go with a solid piece of 3/4" plated steel the entire dimension of the firewall. The 2.5 degrees could be machined into it by the Mental Machinist!

Re: Carden PRO Built by Lee

Perfect, just the stuff I needed! I looked everywhere to find out what size the center hole was on that mount...nyet...Trev to e rescue!
Jim, the firewall is a beast on this thing and there will be other holes too. Most builds of this plane show similar weight reduction and this baby ain't gonna be a tubby like my JTech!

I'm shooting for 37 pounds give or take a half.

Lee,

It's an IMAC machine correct, not a hucker like Mr. T builds.

Don't go to light, ask Ted Barrette, he learned from experience!

I know you want to have some reserve power but watch she doesn't get to light that she gets tossed around in a good breeze like a balloon.

Just Sayin!
