No probs Jeeeuummmmssss . Built stock this plane comes out around 38-39 pounds and I'm only doing some intermediate lightening. So far i've only removed about 5 ounces out of the Mbox and I won't be lightening the fuse sides or doing the cf thing with the cross braces except at the canopy site.
Stay tuned

Re: Carden PRO Built by Lee

Made good progress today and it was a very productive day outside too...think I got a sunburn

First pic shows how I lightened the firewall with a forstner bit drilled to within a 1/16 on the lightening holes and right through where the SWB mount will go. Second one is the start of the fuse side using an 8 foot aluminum angle straightedge to align all the sticks. After gluing the top longeron, I moved it over. placed the bottom longeron and rebutted it to the bottom (after epoxy on all the sticks and doublers of course).

If this keeps up I should have the fuse sides done and glued to the Mbox before the weekend. I hope to have this thing all ready for covering before Christmas...is that too ambitious

Re: Carden PRO Built by Lee

Christmas might be a bit ambitious.'
When I did my 35% last winter, I started the first week of November and was ready for covering beginning of Feb.
Plane was fully completed at the end of Feb.

The motor box and fuse sides go together pretty quick. Then things start to slow as more and more detail work is needed.

Yep!!! Dennis and Caroline are two of the best people in this hobby!! I can only imagine the number of phone calls they get a day and they're surprisingly always willing to chat!!! It sure makes building a passion when you know there's folks on the other end that are truely dedicated to the hobby
