Finished the canopy hatch and have mounted the cowl. Really trying for a flush fit between cowl, canopy and fuse. Hopefully it works out.

Re: 43% Aerotech Edge 540

I was able to go to the shop and get the wings sheeted. I used my Dremel to bore out a channel between the servos and to the root edge to rune the servo wires. I also ran some thread through the channels to help pull the servo wires through. Next I spread the 30NF on the foam and the balsa sheeting. I let it sit for about 25min and then married the two surfaces. After all was said and done I raided the weight room and borrowed about 900lbs of weight. Even though with 30NF, weight is not necessary, I thought why not, I need the workout anyways.

Re: 43% Aerotech Edge 540

I mounted the servo trays and sanded the wings. Just getting ready to mount the wings. I am still not sure which method I will use for this step.

Re: 43% Aerotech Edge 540

I finished the wings, I mounted the anti-rotation pins, drilled and tapped for the nylon bolt. I took two spare bolts and put them in the pencil sharpener. I got a real nice sharp point. I was planning on setting the incident by setting my meter to zero then using the sharpened bolt to mark the side of the fuse. I would then drill the side of the fuse for the pins. Spent some time getting my build table ready to cover the wings and fuse.

Re: 43% Aerotech Edge 540

Went into the shop to get some work done on the cowl and some finish sanding done on the fuse. I had put some light body filler where the cowl meets the fuse, and where the vertical stab meets the fuse. I put a light coat of sand able primer on the cowl to help me identify and pin holes in the glass. It really was not that bad. I used some pin hole filler I purchased from BVM. You simply rub the filler into the glass, let sit for 60 min then rub off. The pin holes will be filled. I then put a second coat of primer. Holes are now gone. One more light coat of primer, followed by sanding, will finish it off before paint.

Re: 43% Aerotech Edge 540

Spent a good two hours messing with the wing incident. I really hate this part of the build, but all worked out very well. It is amazing how much time can be spent on a 32nd of an inch. I spent some time cutting out the rudder servo openings. I cut come light ply and reinforced the openings.

Re: 43% Aerotech Edge 540

FINALLY! The wings are on and at zero. Here are a few pics of the wings on the plane and how I chose to attach them.

Re: 43% Aerotech Edge 540

I finished the covering on the fuse. I had to back a couple of times to sand some more, man white ultra cote shows every little imperfection.

Re: 43% Aerotech Edge 540

I got one wing cut and hinged. Worked out well, and should have enough through?
