Speakers, battery chargers, arc welders, power supplies, electric motors, and some test equipment are all deadly to cheap magnets. To do "magnetic particle inspection" you magnetize the steel part, then after you pass it through a large coil with A/C current running through it to de-magnetize it. At your local supermarket there is a de-magnetizer at the checkout for those anti-theft strips.

Sometimes the ignitions are cooked right from the factory. Send the ignition into DA and they will take care of you.

DA ignition must be turned at at least 200rpm and plug grounded in order for it to spark.

this is there saftey feature.

The DA ignition is grounded throught the ignition shielding cable, to check for spark there is no need to ground the plug. Just flip the prop over fast and you should see the spark, if not check your ign battery, remove any inline switches and check your shielding cable for freys.

I had to replace my shielding cable as it was freyed bad enough that I was having intermittent grounding which resulted in no spark.....
