Any time I fill my gas jugs, whether it is for 2 stroke aircraft engines or 4 stroke tools (mower, snow blower, etc) I simply add a half cap full of gas stabalizer at the same time. Then oil for the 2 stroke stuff. Then I just use the stuff. At the end of the season, I just put the planes or tools away and don't worry about them. I don't drain the tanks. I don't pull the spark plug and add oil. Nothing.
Next season, everything just starts right up without any problems. I pulled out the snow blower today, and it started up immediatly. No problems.
Sometimes I think we tend to over think these things.
