First gas throttle linkage

Converting my GP P6-E Hawk to a 26cc gasser. My first gas install, boy did it take a bit head scratching and a lot of part bin diving to work this out. Was my first time rigging this. So that's how I spent my extra hour this weekend, trying to get past this hurdle.

Re: First gas throttle linkage

Well, you must have scratched the right spot as your setup looks great! Amazing what one can come up with when necessity dictates it!

I had a similar problem but with the choke assy! My fix was to use a simple 90 degree bell crank to activate the choke from the side of the fuse just behind the cowl.

I have actually seen some where the pilot reaches in the front of the cowl, past the prop, to pull a leaver to activate the choke. Flip the prop till the engine barks, then reach in the front of the cowl again to open the choke...Yeowwww! I like my idea! It works great and keeps the fingers/hands well back from the prop!

Re: First gas throttle linkage

bringing a oldie back up
I just did my first gas throttle set up on our Zenoah G-38 powered camera carrier.
I had a second carb for parts and took the longer choke arm off it and replaced the
G-38's carb's shorter throttle arm with it.
now my linkage lines up
I used Kevlar push rod and a hard plastic tube over it to stiffen the flexible push rod.
