I see your point, if used correctly I tend to agree that it should be fine. I guess I have just been on the ground hanging around engineers for too long :P . They all seem to be highly against the use of the rotor brake and I have heard their reasons for it many times. I just feel that that much weight and momentum coming to that quick a stop over and over again can't be the greatest on the system. If you don't have to use it then why not just let them spool down on their own, then your guarenteed not to do damage.
