Re: GTM 1/3 Fokker D-7

Steve,

Looks great. I always look forward to your posts on this build.

After my current build, a Be12a which I hope to finish in the next couple of weeks, I will be starting a Balsa USA 1/4 scale Sopwith Pup.

Thanks Chris,You'll like the way the Pup flies and lands at walking speed..guess the Be12a will be just as slow

Steve,

There is a real D-VII in a museum in the town in Quebec where my Mother lives. If you are interested I could try to get some pictures when I am next there. Unfortunately the museum is only open in the summer.

Re: GTM 1/3 Fokker D-7

Went together pretty well Nigel, you just have to ensure the hardwood spars are seated correctly in the rib notches as you glue them in so the balsa spar on top doesn't protrude over top of the ply spar webbing. You still get a bit sticking up here and there, but you just sand or trim it level with the webbing.Ca glue and kicker helped get things done and kept things straight/level a lot faster than carpenters glue..the plywood leading edge takes a bit of time but again everything went together ok you just have to take your time..and have a good supply of Ca and kicker..
