Just amazing build, I like the level of detail and precision that is being put into this model is itself dynamic!....

Re: GTM 1/3 Fokker D-7

Got the tri-pod and rear top wing struts installed. The key here is to take your time and to make sure everything is square and level. Then after triple checking everything secure the 1/4 music wire into the aluminum struts with JB Weld...

Re: GTM 1/3 Fokker D-7

Installed both wings to get the N-struts lined up.I still need to get the cross piece in the N in place yet.The cross piece is JB Welded in between the two uprights.I've been refering to the forum on GTM Fokkers at RC Scalebuiders to get a lot of info that one really needs to get this put together ...
also I'm looking at different colour schemes again,a fellow club member is getting a BalsaUSA 1/4 Fokker D-VII done and he's getting it done up in Lothar Richtofens yellow scheme,so we cant have two of the same at the field..I'm thinking it'll be a late OAW in factory finish lozenge,we'll see...

Re: GTM 1/3 Fokker D-7

N struts are done, gotta let the JB setup for 24 hrs.Thankfully this part of the project is done.80% done 80% to go it seems.Wing setups on bipes really wear on ya.Time to get on with something else..like installing the fuel tank, engine ,servos......etc etc

Re: GTM 1/3 Fokker D-7

Got everthing squared up,the N-struts will be equal in size/angles now, before they weren't.Gotta love bipes..Going to move on to the fuse and get some work done on it.Still lots to do..

Re: GTM 1/3 Fokker D-7

One theme I am would like to see done is all planes in a club marked to a common squadron. Be it real or fantasy. Pilots have actual markings or fantasy but keep squadron markings common. Should make for interesting line ups, especially at rallies away from home field.
