Here is a couple of engines I purchased at the swap meet. Both almost mint and the OS 80 really runs smooth with great throttle range and super low idle.

Re: Engines from the London Swap

Looks like you made a good find there. I too was surprised to find a Saito 125a for $60. Grabbed it if just for spares. As it is all I found was a butchered plug hole. Still searching for a fix.

Last year I bought an older Fox with dual plugs.

I don't know anything about those old spark motors, but I'm going to learn. They are neat Bill.

Re: Engines from the London Swap

Hi Cougar
RE: Butchered plug hole....you can go to a machine shop have the hole
filled with weldment than have it rebore with the proper thread. It is done
with larger holes on aluminum stock and it might just workout if you
know a good aluminum welder.
(Drill hole oversize, fill, a bit of milling to smooth out the surfaces then rebore/thread.)

Re: Engines from the London Swap

That is an option, but I'm a bit leery about what the preheating and cooling will do to the head, especially the valve area. I more prefer Timeserts, but you need the proper installation tools and hard to justify the kit for just one repair.

Anyway, a bit off topic and this is williame3590's thread.

Re: Engines from the London Swap

I remember Clarence Lee who wrote the engine clinic column in RCM Magazine covered how to repair the stripped plug holes. Sure wish I had my old mag collection again.

Sweet looking engines. I remember seeing that model of Enya in a Sterling Steerman bipe years ago. Nice
