My very first RC was a gull-wing glider I got from the CNE from the guys at EasyBuilt Models. They always had a booth there every year when I used to go as a kid. That would have been 1971 or 1972 when I bought that one.

That was the BIGGEST model I ever built. Up to that time I only built rubber powered planes or control line planes. This sucker was HUGE compared to what I had built and flown prior.

Re: What was your very first RC Model?

My very first model was a U-control Spitfire with an 049.that my father and I built (I'm pretty sure my father did most of the work) when I was in grade 5 some hundred years ago.lol
If that counts.
I can't remember my first RC one. I think it was a small kadet. I do know I didn't come home with many intact models. There was one that I lost my bearings on and it just kept going. I have no idea where it ended up. The instructor just stood there and shook his head.

Re: What was your very first RC Model?

1980 "sure FLIGHT" Cessna 150 I think it was imitating, McCoy 29 (exhaust baffle throttle),three channel = Throttle, Elevator, Rudder on a 6 Chanel EK Logictrol.
Walked into a hobby store in Spokane Wa. with $500.00 and after two hours of the first of the to this day not the last best advice and guidance I waked out with everything I needed less an electric starter that cost more than the $4.00 I had left in my pocket.
Thank you Bruce, You got me into this.
Put it all together, took it up the road to my friends farm and fired it up on his road. Tweaked it, range checked it Throttled it up and drove it into the ditch not more than fifty feet in front of us.
That was on a Saturday and that afternoon I found a contact person to a local Flying Club and the next day joined the Grindrod Air Force who taught me everything I know.

hmmmmm, Maybe that explains why I am still here.
