I try not to live in fear ,I try to give people the benifet of the doubt

A place I worked for posted "bounced cheques" in the store when he was unable to straighten it out
Guys HATE to see a enlarged version of their bounced cheque in public LOL and will gladly pay to get it down

Fortunely cheques are pretty much a thing of the past

you could post the "buyers" address and maybe a local could go pay him a visit LMAO

Re: What would you do?

Hello all those who have responded to my original post,

Thank you for your words of wisdom. It looks like the advice from the majority is that I should forget about this incident and move on. I can learn to accept that.

I did feel bitter when I got to know that I could be legally liable if I tell the story to the public with the guy's real name while he could keep my planes with no fear. It made me wonder how exposing a dishonest guy online is different from displaying a shoplifer's photos and name in a shop. Actually, I find the latter is a fairly common practice. I've seen it in more than one hobby store in Canada.

Maybe, I cannot even call the guy dishonest because he is not obligated to do anything. Unlike a shoplifter, he didn't actively steal anything. He was just lucky to find 9 extra kits in his package, which is perhaps more analogous to possessing a wallet lost by someone else?

Live and learn.

P.s., charging that guy's credit card is not an option for he paid via PayPal and therefore I don't have his credit card number.

Re: What would you do?

As you have his address, did you try mailing him a registered letter requesting their return due to accident shipment and include a pre-addressed Bill of Lading for return shipping? Keep the letter simple and with no accusations of theft. Something physical like that might 'hit home' more than a virtual email.

As others have said, it might be worth just chalking it up to a learning experience and being more careful.
