I went to a small flight school during high school and got my commercial pilot license. After 10 years of flying in the bush, getting my instrument rating, working for small commuter airlines I landed my dream job at the Ontario MNR flying a Twin Otter and Turbo Beaver mostly in support of forest fire suppression and wildlife management. While they are the best aircraft built, we do not fly a lot of hours in a year which depending on how you look at it, could be good, or bad!!! As my bumper sticker says, 'I'd rather be flying'!!!!

Re: What Do You Do for Work/Job?

I'm a licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (which is just a fancy way of saying Aircraft Mechanic) I've been working on corporate jets for the last 13 years but last winter I got shafted pretty hard and was within a hair's breath of walking away completely. Just by chance I landed a job with Bombardier Aerospace as an instructor for mechs on the Global Express Ultra-long range business jet and absolutely love the job! Bom is an amazing company to work for.

In my spare time I'm the shipping, receiving, #1 mook-beech, janitor and complaint department for Ontario Adhesives.

Re: What Do You Do for Work/Job?

I worked 22 years for Imperial Tobacco Montreal and 3 years in Guelph Ont until they shut down all production plans in Canada in 2006. In 2007 I got hired by Montreal Transit company as a cleaner but did'nt like cleaning after humans... so I decided to call it off. Now I'm pre retired and I work Mondays as a truck driver and Saturdays or Sundays as a bus driver for handicaped persons. Rest of time is spent on the hobby and taking care of the house.

Re: What Do You Do for Work/Job?

Some say I'm an artist while others say I make dreams & wishes come true but in reality I'm an auto mechanic who dabbled in auto restoration & painting long enough to combine all 3 into a career back in 86 when I started a restoration parts & performance business at home. As time went by the restorations moved from Camaros & Chevelles to mostly Corvettes.

Re: What Do You Do for Work/Job?

High school drop-out, trained in the Signal Corps to be a radio technician, worked for Motorola as one for a while, got into main frame computer service with Honeywell Information Systems (hasn't existed for decades), moved to Varian Data Machines (were sold to Univac) became a lab instrument tech for Varian Instrument division, then sat at a desk for 16 years doing tech support for a dozen product lines for them. Retired in 2008 and the company was absorbed by their major competitor in 2010. Maybe I'm a curse that makes companys go away.

Now I do part time stuff on a couple of fronts to help pay the bills.
