Are there still lots of R/C fliers using the assigned frequencies in the ham band?

Re: Amateur Radio Band

I'm a licensed amateur and back in the day I looked at this option to avoid having to pay for 2 license fees and also to avoid having to wait to fly due to frequency conflicts.

Now that Industry Canada has dropped licensing fees on RC equipment and also with the advent of 2.4 DSM, running 50 Mhz gear has lost its appeal to me personally.

Re: Amateur Radio Band

I'm also a licensed HAM and in the day there was a real advantage to having a separate group of frequencies available but these days with 2.4 it doesn't matter.
