AEROTECH Phoenix

I have an AEROTECH Phoenix. It's a high-performance rocket launched glider, 50 inch span, is lauched from a rail system, plans included, and can reach 500 feet with an F sized rocket, or 1000 feet with G sized. Foam core wings, includes two motors. Was part of a swap, so I don't know a lot about this. Looks like the fuse was started, but everything still fits in the original box, and everything looks complete. Offers????

Re: AEROTECH Phoenix

Oops! Sorry bout that. The list price on the box is $234.99, then marked down to $179.99. How's $150 for starters? Feel free everyone to leave feedback if you wish as to the price, and any info anyone has on this rather interesting bird!

Free Bump

Here is a couple of pictures I found on the net of a launch and someone's child. Looks like fun.

Good luck with the sale.

Re: AEROTECH Phoenix

That is really cool what does it take to launch it for fuel and cost? Also what kinda top speed? Thanks Jim.

Re: AEROTECH Phoenix

It uses solid rocket motors. The housing for the motor is a metal tube, seriously thick, with a nozzle. The propellant is a solid tube, very much like typical model rocket motors, and launched in the same fashion. It specifies the 500/100 foot heights, for F and G sized motors. I'll have to read through the instruction manual, to check for speed, but think it's in the 100MPH range. What I don't know, is if the motors are still avail, or if standard large model rocket motors are avail. She'd probably make a great slope soarer without, but hey, the cool factor of having an R/C Rocket glider, I'd definately hope that anyone buying would go for the launch!

Re: AEROTECH Phoenix

Did some checking, and Balsa Machining Services, (http://www.balsamachining.com/) sells the E and F motors for this. They quote $15.99 a pack, but don't say how many in a pack, but the motors can be had!
