As AKB mentioned above I have sometimes flown at a field that has a 400 ft height restriction, plus being restricted laterally also to about 500 feet each way. Makes for slow flying in order to keep within the box. Planes like an R54 or Boomers that go very slow can fly there without any problems. I really don't fly there any longer because of the restrictions.

I do not know why but many clubs insist upon using dB meter readings as a measure of how "loud" an engine is. All a dB meter does is measure pressure differentials (sound waves) in the air....and that is it. It does not take into account the pitch and tone of the sound in question. As has been said previously, it is flawed.

dB meters are useless with respect to our application.
