HI , would a zenoah G38 be a good choice for a
Balsa USA Fokker DVII or is there a better one.

Re: Zenoah g38

I suggested this engine to alot of people as a replacement for a g-38.

For 40 bucks more you can get a Roto 35. These are all CNC machined in the checz republic. Beautiful Motor!!!

AMR carries them and the 2 stroke 35 and it is lighter than the zenoah and it is smaller as well.

These are MUCH better motors than DLE and I think better than Zenoah as well. The price is almost the same for the 35. They are fairly new so not many have heard of them yet.

For anyone who is looking at a dle20 or 30 or a zenoah 26 or 38 I would suggest you to take a peek at these!!! I can vouch for the 35, the machining is AMAZING. I would take one of these over a dle or Zenoah ANYDAY!!!

Link for the 35

Link for the 25

Tell Michel @ AMR I sent you he will take care of you. AMR has the best service around!

Re: Zenoah g38

Have you considered the balance problem and whether you'll need the weight of a heavier engine. IMHO you certainly can't beat the simplicity of the newer Zenoah line [no battery to maintain] single bolt prop hub, accessable carb and how easily they start. The mufflers are good, as well. Tex

Re: Zenoah g38

The WW1 birds always need some extra nose weight as they are all short coupled. The magneto Zenoahs are easy to start and operate. I would not hesitate in recomending the G38 for the DVII. If memory serves me right the BUSA instructions show the engine install as a G38.
