SAITO FA130TD Case Vent????

I need help. I picked up one of these engines off of ebay, it has very low run time and looks good. I emailed the dealer Horizon Hobby and they sent me a copy of instruction manual. As usual there is nothing on the vent for this engine. Now there is a vent in the back cover, one on the crank by the cam gears and another Just near there that goes directly into the case, it has a diaphragm and a venturi like thing on it. One of the exhaust pipes has a fitting on it for the tank vent. Right now he has the diaphragm one connected to the rear case and the front one has just a stubby piece of line on it. Now these engines have only one crank pin so the pistons are always going the same direction therefore the crankcase is not a heavy breather and at low speed it has that chugidy-chug like a harley because of the uneven firing order. Do I just route the tank vent to the fitting on the exhaust pipe?

Re: SAITO FA130TD Case Vent????

I have a 1.30twin not sure if is exact same as yours but it has no vent line set up to tank. It has two feed lines with seperate clunks. One for each carb. You can run a line from the exh to tank but the other vents should just stay open to atmoshere based on my research. Due to no crank pulse the diaphram is to clear the crank of excess oil.

Hope that helps. Also hope no one proves me wrong LOL

Re: SAITO FA130TD Case Vent????

I have one that is untouched ,the nipple under the cam is just a vent tube ,the one on the diaphram pump goes to the backing plate (make sure this hose is a solid one or the or the pump will have little effect),silicone rubber will just flex ,mine has a black hard rubber ,almost plastic hose ,argon should work)

hope this helps Roger
