no problem , and yes i want something thats made proper, what i have now for helis some are decent build but not at all what seems to be out there thats 1000% better, when i get into a hobby i tend to go all the way eventually with it and stick to it, and i hate half A**ed stuff , i knew once i started into this stuff i would want better machines but i also wanted to start out so that i can learn this stuff on the repair end of things as well and seeing how they are built and what they do is really intersting , the closest i got to rc when i was a kid was a plane with an .049 engine that was hooked to a string, and i built a few free flyers and they were cool to but what is out there today blows me away and i have to learn it..but i still want to get a cheap 3d before going to the higher end stuff .. baby steps then upgrade as i go, besides helis and planes are like tools you can never have to many and they are all different.

Theres a ton of cheap out there and a lot of junk. You also have to watch out on initial setup the 3D guys have thier setup style the scale guys have thier and the sport flyers another way. Good luck and you have inspired me to carry on with my scale 600 size MD500.

The blade 450 3D is a great little RTF heli for the money. A buddy of mine recently got one, and it's a significant improvement over the original Blade 400.

If you are considering a T-Rex, Align will be releasing a T-Rex 450 Plus combo package here shortly, designed to compete with the blade 450 3D. The airframe is the same old trusty t-rex, combined with a 6ch Futaba tx/rx package. Price should be comparable. One more thing to consider. As long as you stick with the mainstream brands I think you'll be satisfied.

Align R/C, OS Engines, Futaba, Great Hobbies, Hatori, SGP, Morgan Fuels, Castle Creations

Re: need some advice on a heli i might get

I wish I had some of the skills that some of you have. I do like precision, and like to assemble, but I have to buy the parts since I can't make them myself. I started with HK 450 (bought 4 kits and built 3), very cheap, and I learned a lot from them. Especially how to crash and repair. I moved to a Trex 450 Sport and WOW what a difference. But when I did crash it, and I did twice only, it cost me as much to repair than to buy a new clone.

I moved up to the HK 500GT, and the tail was nothing but problems. I bought an Align tail to replace, and that did the trick. Agree with previous post that 500 is much easier to see than the 450. I then bought an Align Trex 500 Pro, and again what a difference. I did have tail problems (twitching) which I never found the problem until I crashed. It has since been repaired, but hasen't flown yet (winter you know...)

Because Size does matter, I bought myself an Align Trex 600 ESP Pro which is still sitting in a box. A winter project, but come to think of it, spring is almost here. Gotta go build me a Trex 600. Bye for now...
Heli: Blade MCX, MSR, CPP2, 2 x HK 450, HK500GT, Trex 450 Sport, Bell MD500 (450), HK500GT, Trex 500 ESP, Trex 600E Pro
Quad: Gaui 330X, Gaui 500 with GU-INS
Floats: GWS e-Starter, CL-415 Canadair
Plane: F4U Corsair, Extra 300, Hangar-9 Piper J-3 Cub 40, Visionaire, Polaris Ultra, Focke Wulf 190
