Talking fried parkzone receiver

About a week ago I got my first rc plane and was going to test out the controls quickly. When I went to hook every thing up I plugged my battery directly into the receiver where it said battery and a bunch of smoke came out. It now will not work and was wondering how I could fix it? The receiver is made by parkzone:
Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks in advance.

Re: fried parkzone receiver

You have to plug the battery into the speed controller NOT the receiver. You have fried your Rx and need to purchase a new one.

Re: fried parkzone receiver

While it is my experience that receiver batteries have the appropriate connector for receivers, I am not aware of others that do. What battery did you plug into your receiver and how did you manage to do it?
