British Columbia Ultra cote problem

On a new Hanger 9 ARF P51 60 a problem arose when scotch taping the canopy in place for gluing. When the tape was removed the silver colour on the ultra cote pealed off!! It is a flat finish silver with black detailing.

Secondly, a drop of oil landed on the outer edge of the wing. Can't seem to get it off!! There is still a very distinct stain left. Same covering as above. Any ideas on what to use to remove the stain??

I've put this same post on the Construction thread as well.

I'd rather be inside building airplanes than outside working for a living.

Re: Ultra cote problem

So to be clear, the oil is on the UltraCoat?
If thats the case then they color they use applied to the outside of the film.
I don't think your going to be able to do anything about the staining and I find that strange as the covering should be fuel and oil proof.
Is there an area that you could try wiping some fuel on and seeing if it affects the covering?
Touching up Siver is a bugger at the best of times but if you can get the color close and the air pressure just right you should be able to match it pretty close.
That's if you are using an Airbrush.
If you are then keep in mind that the higher the pressure you spray at the lighter the silver will look when applied.
