Although I'm a newbie, I prefer the thumbs probably partially related due to playing video games with my thumbs!

Re: Two Finger vs Thumb Radio Control

Great point. I do see advantages to using thumb over thumb and finger. I don't use a neck strap mainly because my little girl thought she needed it more than I do and now I can't find it. Its probably hidden in the same place she put my binding plug for my 450. Darn kid...but I still love her. She loves to go to the park with me to fly my heli. She reminds me that she got me my heli for my birthday and that its blue. A 2 year old, what do you expect.

Re: Two Finger vs Thumb Radio Control

The reason I came up with the hands free suspension of my radio was of what I saw on another website. This guy had a scale heli about 700 size but he had use of only one arm. One thing I noticed in his video was his radio was suspended by straps only, leaving his one hand free for flying. He was also very good at flying with one hand so I figured that maybe hanging my radio the same way would help me too.

is what I use. I find in order to be comfy with the two finger method you need a tray.

I started with thumbs, until I saw on YouTube, Justin Lee father forcing him to use the 2 finger method. I tried and had a bit of problem with it at the begging since as was so used to thumbs (and yes you need a neck strap or any other device that will hold your radio at the proper height to have full control). Did not take me long to get used to the 2 finger and like mentioned above you have better control. The only time I will use the thumbs method is when I have no strap and need to hold the radio with my hands, so thumbs for me is a nono. 2 negative I have for thumbs, first a little less precise, second in hard 3D you thumb can slip of the stick if you move to hard and hit the stick on the side of the radio.
