[Frank Klenk]

So I picked this engine up on RC Groups. I bought it from a very nice gentleman in the USA. It is an Ohlsson and Rice Special 60. It is a prewar engine, I place it's date as early 1940's, perhaps as early as 1941. I did a cleanup but it didn't need much. The engine shows no marks on the lugs at all. Piston is black indicative of run time. Compression is huge. Engine is all original with no repro parts. Pretty cool that it came with the original box, instructions, coil, condensor and I added the high tension lead for the photo shoot.
It's not a real rare engine but to find one with box and papers is difficult. Right Bill?
Actually it's older than I first thought as the serial is quite low. I figured it was a 1947 or so. All the other guys are quite happy with their new friend.

Hi Frank I seem to remember that the early Ohlssons had pressed or spun sheet pistons - is that correct do you know?? I once had the bones of an Ohlsson 56 I think it was, but gave it to Norm Carrol in exchange for checking out and cleaning up my old 23!

Not sure Cedric. Memory tells me you may be correct. I'll have to do some research on it.
