Re: Really Giant Scale Hurricane

Thanks. All the panels on the starboard side are done, have 3 more stringers to go, then that's done. Should have them installed today, and then working on doing the panels for the Port side.

Re: Really Giant Scale Hurricane

Not too much worthy of photos at the moment, just lots of sanding, trying to get the last bits done on the rudder, so that can go to the museum, and getting prepped to install the seat, do some work in the cockpit, and then start closing off the port side. I've also got the bulkhead for the engine forward section cut, that will need some sanding, and then I can do the spinner ring, and work my way back. I'll try to get that all framed up over the weekend. It's a bit of a pain, due to space in the shop, so I've got to get it framed up fast, then off the nose, or we have to crawl to the laundry room!

Re: Really Giant Scale Hurricane

Sitting, or hanging, they are discussing hanging up , due to space issues, and it would be right beside a large Battle of Britain exhibit. I can't wait to get the seat installed, and actually sit in it. I promised myself I'd get a certain amount of work done first though, hopefully by the end of the weekend, if all goes well. Being back at work has been exhausting, lots of strange goings on right now in the military.

Re: Really Giant Scale Hurricane

Your not going to do trial fit of the seat at home first?
This way you can sit in the plane and re-live your child hood for a moment while no one is looking!!

Re: Really Giant Scale Hurricane

I will, just not till I've got the front end done. Still lots of work to do before I deliver this section to the museum.

Re: Really Giant Scale Hurricane

Haven't updated in a while, but am making progress. Lots of sanding at the moment, getting ready to sheet the left side, and get those stringers on. I'm also working on the fabrication of the nose section. Once it looks like a nose, I'll start getting more pics up!

Re: Really Giant Scale Hurricane

Worked more on the rudder today, sanding the leading edge, hoping to get it finished and over to the museum ASAP, to clear a bit of space.
