Lots of work done past few days, all four flaps built and painted, working on the ailerons, finishing work/paint on the left wing. Couple more days, and the left wing should be finished, aside from the camo paint on the top. We'll do that with all 3 wing sections attached. Then on to the right wing, should go fairly fast, getting down to the wire to have an airframe ready for Battle of Britain events locally.

Re: Really Giant Scale Hurricane

Today, we got the final bit of sheeting done on the left wing, as well as the final access panel, for joining the wings. I've got the lower half of the inboard (6 feet) of leading edge to do, and that will complete the left wing, save for Leeann doing the last bit of sky underneath, and painting the camo on the top. Should be done by Friday, soon as it's ready for her to paint, it will get moved out, and the right outer wing panel will be setup for finishing. All flaps are done, and awaiting installation, ailerons are in the process of being built, they should be done next week. That completes the building of all major components, all I have left is the Radiator, two belly pans, and a bit of the lower front fuse, once the wing center section is mated to it. Should be completed well in time for Battle of Britain events locally. Fingers crossed!

Re: Really Giant Scale Hurricane

Late night, but got the wing leading edge done, and a whole lot of cleaning up, tons of shavings and dust. Should get the bottom of the wing it's final bit of paint tomorrow, then Saturday it will get moved out, flipped upright, and leeann can work on the camo paint for the upper surfaces. Meanwhile, I need to finish the ailerons, get them over to fabric, and then get the right wing completed.

Left wing is done! Tomorrow it will get moved out, flipped, and setup for Leeann to paint the top camo, while I rush to finish the right wing.

Re: Really Giant Scale Hurricane

Painting is done for left wing. One more panel to install on the right, then leading edge top half. Once that's done, flip wing over, repeat for the undersides.

Re: Really Giant Scale Hurricane

Thanks. Final work is happening on the landing gear, I'm doing up the wing mounting blocks this week, and finishing off the sheeting on the right wing upper half, and hoping to have the wing over to Leeann to paint this weekend, that will be the last major component. Ailerons are coming along, they should be done end of the week as well, and over to fabric. Then I'll get going on the radiator, finish the canopy, windscreen, and then assembly time. Mad rush to hopefully unveil it for the big BoB parade 10 Sept here in Dartmouth.
