Re: Evra engines ?

Well, well, well. So that's what kind of engine I've got. I stumbled upon your thread here, and wouldn't you know, it paid off! I recently bought a 12' Giant Telemaster here on R/C Canada, and it came with an engine on it that despite my 30+ years in the hobby, I could not identify. Turns out it's an EVRA 190, complete with the starter rope pulley, single exhaust stack, and the shock-absorbing mount. There was an 18X6 wood prop on it too. I wasn't planning on using this engine, but since it might turn a bigger prop, maybe I'll give it a try.
Thank-you all for the information, especially the magazine ad.

Re: Evra engines ?

The Evra and the 12 Foot Telemaster marketed together all the time. I think it was the first production gas engine. Close anyway. I had one and the big problem was the short spark lead. Another inch would have ensured there would still be a few around today as the leads always pulled out off the base on any I saw. The aluminum mount made for a tidy installation. 1.9 cu. in.
