I recently purchased a Pektrum DX6i it it in a hold patter on my elevator holding in a full throw... Anyone else heard of this?

Is this a new DX6i or used?
If it's new, I would start checking over your radio system. Especially the receiver power supply (battery or BEC).
If it's used, check the 'PID' sticker in the battery compartment to make sure it wasn't one of the recalled radios from back in 2009:
These radios had stick potentiometer issues which can cause all sorts of weird behaviour. If your radio is affected, contact Horizon Hobby. The repair is FREE.
