Double Sided Stick Tape
Hi
Has anyone any idea how to remove double side stick tape . I,ve tried , acitone ,mineral spirit , wood alcohol . Any other ideas would be appreciated . Michel

Hope this doesn't sound too crazy, but solvents always create a mess with sticky substances for me. I usually try oil to soften sticky stuff. vegetable oil, etc, or fats like butter, anything slippery. It generally breaks down the sticky stuff, I wipe it away, then I clean up with spirits/sovents. Also did this with tree/pine sap on the (old) car.
If the tape is on something that might be unhappy with oil...i don't know...??? Not sure about sticky stuff that has gone dry and turned to powder/stone... Try a small spot or something else and see if it works first...I hate when when my comments are wrong, but I hate not saying something that might help... |

WD-40 or electronic contact cleaner often works when nothing else will, give it a try.

I typically try to get as much off as possible using physical methods. Then I use a product called "goof off", available at canadian tire. Use a lint free cloth with it.

I've tried all sorts of methods.
But now, I just use a heat gun. All to the double sided tape I've used peels off without any effort. I don't use any oils as I want to re-use the surface again and most tapes won't adhere to cleaned, but at one time oiled plastic surfaces. |

It ocured to me that there is one thing that destroy,s almost anything when it comes in contact with chemicals ,.................................GLOW FUEL . And ,......... it worked . The answer was just under my nose .Thanks for youre input guys Michel
