Always great to see CF-105s. I did Madrobs little 19" pusher version as RL201 in it's 'final flight' scheme. I had a 3000kv BW motor on a 2cell 1000mah battery and 5X5 prop. The plane was always a handful and I was semi terrified every time I launched it. A friend pointed out the issue was probably that it was setup too sensitive in roll and/or not enough in pitch so certainly the the design is not to fault. Still, seeing yours makes me miss mine. I destroyed it when I got too low in a fast pass and the prop caught the turf at full power.

Re: Prop jet Avro Arrow

Hey John,

I finally got to maiden mine, didn't go as planned. Bungie could have been stronger and the prop collet on the motor shaft came loose so no thrust

Not a lot of damage but need the time to repair. Thanks for the replies on the PM's, I'll let you know what I'm going to do.

Re: Prop jet Avro Arrow

I guess I'll have to bend to customer pressure and do a re-design with this model. Most have been asking if it can be converted into a EDF model, so after I get back from holidays, I'll do a setup for a single 70 mm EDF unit.
I'll need to make molds for the bifurcated thrust tube which will be vacuformed not molded fiberglass and a new tail cone, a more scale looking item that will have the stinger molded in.
No intake ducting, but I'll vacuform a generic intake ring that can be sized and glued to the front of any 70 mm EDF unit.
I want to make it light, so will start testing with a Mega ACn 16 EDF with a 3 cell battery and then with a 4 cell. Then for those who ready want to push it, I'll try the Mega EDF 5S which is good for 5 to 6 cells.
Since the original model was only around 32 oz with the old motor setup from the Stryker, I should get the model with the EDF unit in and around 40 to 45 oz. The addition of the molded plastic parts, the covering and the EDF unit make up the additional weight.
