Fibreglass over Monokote

I picked up an H&M FW190 ARF and after seeing the modifications that a fellow down south did I decided to try to pimp mine out too. The covering that comes on the plane has to go so that I can fibreglass it. Does it matter if there is a little bit of colored adhesive residue still on the plane when I glass it? I have been sanding and sanding and the balsa is getting a little thin in places.
