Once the timing was set, I never had a burbling.

I thought did, increased the pop off pressure. Thought a new problem developed. Ordered a new carb from DA. New problem was still there.

That aside.... What I thought was a bubbling issue was just a rich low needle.
I had to lean on it hard. I have never had to lean a low needle like this 60 wants.

Brad,

Can you measure the volume of each pipe set up for the DA60. It would interesting to see the difference between the 3 models. See how close they are at there idea lengths.

Pipes are with Trevor now.

Measuring volume is tough. Well not really..... we can fill them with water and measure their fluid volume.
But there is so much at play like... Convergent cones, Divergent cones, Lack of divergent cone, belly shape, main body shape, Shape of the convergent cones. That volume alone wouldn't be a fair comparison.

Re: DA-60 Testing ( Taming the Monster )

I figured now that you were completely happy with the motor and the way it was running the information was largely irrelevant as none of it was needed to get your results(engine works best stock) , the thread had pretty much run it's course on the DA .I figured I should remove all the scribble to make it easier for anyone trying to find actual top RPM & prop numbers or information most relevant to getting those numbers . I guess in the end I was offering information that was of little use and just messing up your thread .cheers Roger

my friend Brian just brought over his test stand so so I will be doing some running on the EME this weekend . what I can tell you so far is the motor weighs 2lb14oz with plug prop bolts washer and exhaust bolts . the ignition weighs 106g and the muffler weight is 70g . much lighter than the actual listed weight ,they must weigh it in the box LOL .and these weights are pretty accurate. anyway I would never run a engine hard until it has some time on it . but from what I have read they seem to turn a falcon 24x9 at 6600 in the warmer weather I am sure our cool weather up here will help that a bit.

I guess more useless info on the DA theread that I can delete later LOL

Hold on what would you want with a EME anyway, like you would be caught dead with a "chint" engine in your plane.
