Interesting to see a Du-Bro Whirleybird 505 in the classifieds (no vested interest on my part) and interesting to see how far RC helis have come in 40 years.. Oh what we take for granted!

if I remember correctly the Dubro ones were even before the "Cricket" helis.....late 70's?

Yes, they were. I remember when the cricket came out, it was a HUGE technological leap from the whirlybird.

I learned to fly fixed pitch and no gyro
But at least my heli had a clutch!!! OOoooh )
And a swash-plate....Oooh

By comparison, today's stuff is MIND-BLOWING. I dont yearn for the old days... ever!
